An Introduction to the Bride and Groom
A short snippet about the bride…
Abbi Kenny was born in Boston, MA, and grew up in historic Lexington, MA. She attended the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where she met Luke sophomore year, and they sat side by side in their spring sophomore painting studio. She then went to Scotland and Rome in her senior year at RISD. Following, Abbi went on to study painting at Boston University receiving her master’s in 2024.

Luke Whittaker was born in Toronto, ON, and grew up in Darien, CT. He also attended the Rhode Island School of Design. Luke then went on to study at OCAD, and in 2024, he received his master’s from the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY.
Their Story
And together…
At RISD during their sophomore year, Luke boldly came over to Abbi's apartment where they watched A Room With A View with Nelson (Abbi's cat) asleep on his feet. While at the European Honors Program in Rome, Italy, Luke and Abbi finally started dating following a long flirtation (since sophomore year). There they went to many dinners and watched many late-night movies together. Luke moved into Abbi's apartment in the spring of 2020, consolidating their studio practices into a shared one-bedroom apartment on Federal Hill in Providence, RI. Following many small and large moves, Luke and Abbi both received their masters and are currently in Brooklyn, NY, with their cats Nelson and Iggy, who love to watch the firetrucks from the bedroom window.
