Where to stay and how to get there

There are a variety of options for accommodations near Bristol. Options include staying in Providence, Fall River, Newport, Bristol, or small surrounding towns. The following are hotel options nearby, but Airbnb or other more personal accommodations are also available in the vicinity. Because it is a popular beach vacation area, booking in advance is highly recommended due to the summer influx of visitors.

The closest airports to Bristol, RI include Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD) in Warwick, RI; Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) in Boston, MA; or John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in New York. (These last two are quite a bit further but might be good for international travelers.) There are trains from New York (Amtrak) and Boston (MBTA Commuter Rail) to Providence.

Bristol

Mount Hope Farm – Great for walking, hiking, and visiting farm animals. There is a farmers market on Saturday (the wedding day) in the South Pasture from 9 am to 12:30 pm.

Pivotal Brewing Company – A local brewing company in the center of Bristol.

Audubon Nature Center and Aquarium – A natural history museum on local habitats and wildlife found in RI

Colt State Park – State Park offers views of Narragansett Bay, hiking trails, paved bike paths, and open fields with historic stone walls

Aquidneck Island

Newport Vineyards – Offers tastings, tours, farm-to-table dining, taproom, and classes. Located at 909 E Main Rd, Middletown, RI 02842

Newport Cliff Walk – Map and information about the walk along the island's cliffs. Great for hiking and walking, dogs are welcome.

Newport Mansions – The Breakers, Marble House, Rosecliff, and more.

Newport Art Museum – A small art museum with a collection ranging from historic colonial American art to contemporary New England-based artists located in a historic summer home.

Providence

RISD Museum – A small museum with a large collection of art and objects ranging from ancient to contemporary.

Thayer Sreet – Lots of shops and restaurants, very popular with Brown University and RISD Students.

Wickenden Street – A popular street for eating, walking, and shopping. Nostalgia (on Wickenden) is a fun thrift shop offering a variety of unexpected finds.

Federal Hill – Known for its Italian dining and shopping. Luke and Abbi highly recommend a visit to their old neighborhood!

Farm Fresh RI – Located just a stone’s throw from Luke and Abbi’s former studio building, Farm Fresh offers farmers’ markets and local dining.
